Tom Sliter
Tom Sliter began moving his photography from hobby to fine art 3 years ago.  Among his earliest inspirations were the works of Ansel Adams and the Westons for their mastery of composition and the subtleties of grayscale and Margaret Bourke-White for the boldness and beauty with which she portrayed the world of steel and concrete.
He has always been captivated by the power of a black and white print to isolate the essence of light and shadow while retaining, even enhancing, the ability to evoke a broad range of emotions.  Among his current projects he is examining the interaction of light and surface in metallic objects. The images reveal an inherent beauty encouraging questions and enticing the eye to linger a little longer. He also has a passion for sailing and marine photography.
Tom does much of his work using a Nikon digital camera and an iPhone, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Nik software for most post-processing and an Epson 3880 printer and Canson and Moab papers for printing.
